Title: The Davis Model of Sound Intervention™: Using sound-based therapies within a diagnostic protocol.
Abstract: The Davis Model of Sound Intervention™ provides an opportunity for each person to make natural self change by repatterning their energy patterns. Dorinne Davis developed a diagnostic evaluation to determine the appropriate application of sound-based therapies for change in learning, development and wellness challenges. She discovered "The Davis Addendum to The Tomatis Effect". She will review The Tree of Sound Enhancement Therapy® and discuss which therapies are utilized at each level of "The Tree", as well as what types of issues can be helped with the different types of therapy. She will introduce the newly identified subtle energy system called The Voice-Ear-Brain Connection™ and discuss the new technique called "Ototoning". Her approach bridges the gap between sound-based therapy and sound healing.

Ms. Davis is an international speaker in the field of sound therapy. She has presented at many sound healing conferences such as the International Sound Healing Conference in 2008 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, the World Sound Healing Conference in 2007 San Francisco, California, and the Global Sound Conference 2008 in Marina Del Rey, California and many conferences related to learning and medical challenges including issues of autism, AD/HD, Williams syndrome, learning disabilities, dyslexia, chromosome imbalances, adoption, and more. She has presented in Australia, Korea, Spain, Austria, China, and Russia. The Davis Addendum to the Tomatis Effect was introduced to the United States in 2004 at the Acoustical Society of America and to Europe at the PAN European Voice Conference in the Netherlands in August 2007. At the ISSSEEM conference in 2011 she introduced the concept of an energy system between the voice, ear and brain.

Anthony Bove, BSc
Lifelong interests in science and "how things work," led Anthony Bove to create a decade of formulations as a colloidal chemist for Dow Howard Chemical Corporation.
His passion for health and wellness peaked early in the 1990"s when his mother experienced pain relief using a simple magnetic field. Creativity sparked ideas of sophisticated magnetic fields to help those in pain; Anthony Bove assembled and spearheaded a team of engineers to design and manufacture the most advanced magnetic technology of today"s world.

Martha Howard, MD
Dr. Howard combines Traditional Chinese Medicine--including traditional acupuncture, laser acupuncture and herbal medicine--family practice, environmental and preventive medicine, guided imagery, and sound-based therapies in her practice. She is a pioneer in the field of integrative medicine, which she has been practicing since l982. An administrator, teacher and speaker as well as a clinician, she is Medical Director of Wellness Associates of Chicago.
Dr. Howard has a Master's Degree from Harvard University in Chinese Language and Literature and an M.D. from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. She was a board member for three years of the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and was a board member for ten years of the National Institute for the Clinical Application of Behavioral Medicine. Dr. Howard is the author of a Wellness CD series, Power of Suggestion, and is a teacher of Tibetan Yoga.
The universe is composed of packets of vibrating energy and is in a state of vibrational resonance, including the human body and every form of life. The human body responds in unique and precise ways to a wide spectrum of energies including heat, light, pressure, sound, electromagnetics, gamma rays, microwaves, bio-electricity and neuro-electric consciousness or thought waves/brain waves. Out of this concept has evolved the field of Vibrational Medicine. Vibrational Medicine moves away from the modern approaches that are mechanistic and empirical to that of a relationship that is more defined in energy, light and sound which is manifest in each of us.
Dr. Howard will discuss the science behind the acupuncture system, the experimental work of Dr. Robert O. Becker, and the way that sound can be used interactively with physical therapy and acupuncture therapies. She will present a case of a 68 year old woman who had a diagnosis of severe carpal tunnel syndrome, and osteoarthritis of the cervical spine. She had had long-term numbness in her fingers and atrophy in her right hand. She was told she had to have surgery. She elected not to have surgery, and now has sensation in the ends of her fingers, restoration of atrophied tissue in her right hand, and improvement in the integrity of the disks in her C-spine.

Jeri LaVigne, PhD, Ed.D. has been working in the Atlanta area for more than 25 years helping children and adults reach their goals and dreams by teaching them how to better process information. Once people understand how they process or do not process the vital information that they have to take in and understand, Jeri works with them to fill in the gaps and help them acquire that information and process it more fully. Poor communication skills, disagreements and misunderstandings can be a source of anger and distance, while effective communication can be a springboard to stronger relationships and a happier future. Effective communication happens when we understand the six unique patterns of perception. Each one determines how an individual with that pattern absorbs, organizes, remembers and expresses information. Sound and vibration also play important roles in how we communicate. The sound or vibration of our thoughts is amplified in our words and we want to be clear about the energy and vibration we send out to others.
In this presentation, participants learn to identify their own processing styles and the thinking patterns of others. By understanding their own perceptual styles, individuals can increase their self-esteem and relate to others who never seem to understand them and better how understand how sound and vibration affect their ability to communicate and facilitate healing experiences effectively.

Don Simmons was certified as a massage therapist nearly 20 years ago in California and worked in private practice and coastal resorts in North Carolina and Santa Monica. Today, Simmons teaches meditation, mindfulness and compassion with the use of Sound as a modality of relaxation, balance and wellness. Based in Atlanta, GA, he has a thriving practice as an intuitive counselor and teacher where he uses his intuitive skills to teach others how to tap into their own Wisdom. As a film producer, he worked on the award winning docu-series "Mystic Lands" for the Discovery Channel and won a Pele Award of Excellence in Hawaii for a series of PSA"s on Crisis Intervention. In 2008, Simmons spoke at Kennesaw State University"s Conference on Peace and Religion and again in 2011 at Emory University"s Global Health and Humanity Summit on "Meditation and Sound as a Personal Path to Peace." Recently he has performed with the legendary Steven Halpern, ambient space composer Jonn Serrie on Quartz Crystal and Tibetan Bowls and has produced 8 meditation CD"s.

Upon completing a degree in Psychology and Health science in 2001, Chris spent five years undergoing intensive training and working in Cymatics and Cymatherapy at Bretforton Hall Clinic with Dr Peter Guy Manners, who pioneered the development of Cymatics for over thirty five years. Chris now runs several integrated health clinics across the UK, specializing in energy medicine, nutrition and massage. He is also in the process of developing new research and training programs for Cymatherapy in the UK and has authored the book "Cymatherapy -- A practical guide for everyone" which is due to be published internationally in May 2008. Poet, producer and publisher, Jeff Volk, has been popularizing the science of Cymatics for over 20 years. In 1984 he produced a series of videos based on the pioneering experiments of Swiss scientist Dr. Hans Jenny, which scientifically demonstrated how audible sound creates harmonic, geometric patterns found in intricate life forms, and in the sacred art and architecture of the world's Great Traditions. In 1993, his video, Of Sound Mind and Body: Music and Vibrational Healing, won the Hartley Film Award through the Institute of Noetic Sciences. It"s phenomenal success inspired him to produce the International Sound Colloquium, which for six years, was the premier conference exploring the power of sacred sound and healing music.
In 2001, he re-issued Jenny's long out-of-print Cymatics books as a single deluxe edition, and he recently published an English translation of Water Sound Images, the stunning work of contemporary German Cymatics researcher, Alexander Lauterwasser.
